Does The Incredible Hulk eat waffles naked???

Wish you could see the pictures to go along with this, but you'll just have to imagine it!

Chase is going through an Incredible Hulk phase and he has it in his head that when the Incredible Hulk turns into the Incredible Hulk, he's naked. We have tried to explain to him that he is still wearing shorts, but Chase doesn't believe us. Several times during the last week Chase has come running into the the room stark naked and flexing his muscles claiming to be the Incredible Hulk. This morning while we were eating waffles Chase went into the other room and came back a few minutes later "In Character." He took a few bites of waffles, flexed and then ran out the front door. He hopped on his big wheel and headed for the neighbors buck naked. What a sight! I sometimes wonder what people think when they drive by and see my naked son running around!

It's FINALLY out.....

Well Carson's tooth finally came out. It actually happened February 7th, but I haven't had a chance to blog.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Carson and I were sitting in the kitchen. He came over and asked me to look at his tooth. I did and realized that it pretty much could come out any time. I told him that he should just pull it out, but didn't think he actually would. A few seconds later he yelled "It's out!" I ran over to take a look and sure enough he was holding his tooth. After calling Dad at work he spent the day patiently waiting for bedtime to come. This was one night where there was no argument about going to bed. That night he received a visit from the Tooth Fairy. She even left Fairy Dust all over his bed. Which made for a really glittery trip to church the next day. Congratulations Carson!

14 Days of Valentines!

I know I have already posted today, but I thought it would be good to get some input. I am doing 14 Days of Valentines for Cody. I have done this for him before, but this year we opted not to purchase gifts for each other. So I am focusing my daily surprises on a service. Yesterday (Day 1) I ironed his shirt for him. Today (Day 2) it will be a back rub or a foot rub since he worked a really long weekend. Tomorrow (day 3) I will let him sleep in. Any ideas? Let me know.

Kids say the darndest things....

Well, one of these days I am going to finish all of my December/Christmas posts, but for now I don't want to forget a few things that my kids have said. I have been sick all weekend with the flu and Cody had one of his long weekends so the kids have been cooped up in the house for two days. Last night we were all about to drive each other crazy so my Mom had the idea of taking the kids for a ride so they could get out of the house. We loaded everyone up and headed over to Walgreens to take a treat to Cody. After we spent a few minutes with him and the kids all got their "Dad Fix" we drove down by the temple so we could count it as our church. (I know it's a stretch, but we were all sick so we didn't make it to church.) As we drove by the Visitor's Center the kids both looked in at the statue of Jesus Christ and Chase asked us who that was. Carson then explained that it was Samuel the Lamanite, at which point my Mom quickly turned the car around and told the boys to take another look. Carson then realized that he had made a mistake and figured out that it was Jesus. Just then Carson remembered where Samuel the Lamanite was. "He's that gold statue on top of all the temples!" Chase quickly jumped in and emphatically agreed with Carson. We tried to tell them that it was actually Angel Moroni, but they didn't believe us. I am not sure where they came up with this, but they were adamant that they were right and we the unknowing adults were wrong.

One morning at breakfast.....

Chase "I want a mustache!"
Me "Oh really?"
Chase "Yes, when my face grows up, I am going to have a mustache!"

Hayden's Milestones:
Christmas Day: Pulled herself up into a standing position
January 23rd: Started clapping
January 28th: Starting to finally get teeth. Finally!
They haven't broken through yet, but almost.
February 1st: Let go of the couch while standing and stood for about five seconds and then
lowered herself to the ground. Stared at mom for awhile and wondered why
she got so excited.
Hayden's Words: Mama, Mommy, Papa, Dada, Baba (bye-bye), Told me Na Na the other day
after I had told her No No

Carson is almost seven and hasn't lost a tooth yet. He's tried to convince us that he has had several loose teeth, but after checking we haven't quite agreed. Then a couple of weeks ago I looked in his mouth and noticed that he had a new tooth growing in behind his baby teeth. I felt the tooth in front of it and sure enough it was loose. Here we are a few weeks later and it hasn't fallen out. Carson is patiently waiting for the day that he will finally get a visit from the Tooth Fairy. I asked him the other day how much money he thought the Tooth Fairy gives for a first tooth. He thought a minute and said "I think maybe a quarter! Well, maybe 2 quarters since it's your first tooth." Whew! I guess he hasn't heard of inflation. I think I got a quarter from the Tooth Fairy and that was over 20 years ago. I really thought he was going to say a couple of dollars.
